The Residences of The Elderly Today

In other cases, they receive in their homes. Nursing homes are centers where people over 60 can live permanently and receive all the attention they require in each case. Normally residences make use of those people whose social problems, economic or family can not be served in their homes and require these services. On these sites, the group of professionals who provide these city is increasingly broad and diverse.
The approach from which these people are treated with special needs is also widening, leaving away the days on which this approach was purely custodial. Today in the nursing home care is also aimed at promoting personal development, autonomy and dignity of the person, in addition to the core city, catering and accommodation. There are many needs they address these centers, starting with architectural adaptations that must be taken into account for the cognitive and physical limitations of some elderly, to avoid restrictions on personal autonomy and encourage residents to have full access to all different environments.
